Mission/Vision Statement
January 2005
Mission
(Why We Exist)
To
provide the recreational boating public, at no cost, with easy access to a
state-of-the-art Float Plan; to promote the benefits of preparing and using Float
Plans;
and
to provide the tools and resources for U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and
other boating safety educators to carry out this mission.
Vision
(What We Hope To Achieve)
To make the act of
preparing a Float Plan a fundamental part of “going boating” for every
recreational boater.
Guiding Principles
Our commitment to the following principles involves
everyone at Float Plan Central:
 |
We
are committed to the United States Coast Guard’s
core values of Honor, Respect
and Devotion to Duty and the highest standards of moral and ethical behavior.
|
 |
We are committed to the efficient and effective delivery of float
planning resources and developing the skills/knowledge of the boating
public in the preparation and use of float plans and float planning
tools.
|
 |
While
we are volunteers, we are bound by the commitments we make to
our shipmates and to those we serve.
|
 |
We will nurture our
alliances with state and local governments, and with boating safety
organizations to provide improved public
service.
|
 |
Whatever
the mission, whatever the circumstances, we remember to have fun along
the way.
|
 |
We will
faithfully remain Semper Paratus (Always Ready).
