Our Core
Products
Float Plan
Central's core products include the
"Millennium Edition" Float Plan™
and Boating Emergency Guide™.
1. World's Only Lifesaving
Device On Paper
The
"Millennium
Edition" Float Plan™ is the
quintessential float plan. From its clean well organized lines, to its
efficient single page design, it is the easiest float plan to prepare,
store, and use.
The unique one-page
design of the plan makes it possible for
the Boating
Emergency Guide™
to be printed on the reverse side.
The exclusive
Boating Emergency Guide™,
was first conceived and developed at Float Plan Central, and is the only
such guide in the world to address the needs of the "holder" of a float
plan--the crucial component in its use.
Its step-by-step
instructions utilize
Job Aid(1)
technology (the same technology employed in instruction manuals used by
NASA and other organizations for critical processes),
to lead the holder
of the plan
step-by-step through the process of initiating a Search And Rescue, when
they
have a genuine
concern
for the
safety or welfare of any persons on board, who have not
returned or checked-in within a
reasonable amount of time.
Because it is fully job aided, the device
package can be given to, and used by, any responsible person who can
read and interpret instructions--generally speaking, about 7th grade
level and above. An additional benefit is that prior boating knowledge
or experience is not required.
The
Boating
Emergency Guide™ is a true
stand-alone tool. As an additional convenience to the plan holder, the
guide is available interactively
online.
Together, the
"Millennium
Edition" Float Plan™ and
Boating Emergency
Guide™,
make the float plan a fully functional "Lifesaving Device on Paper."
2. Extended Functionality
If your needs extend beyond the usual, were you need more space for
passengers and crew or you have an extensive itinerary planned for your

sections.
3. Simple Access
All of the products mentioned above are
conveniently available from our
homepage
any time you need them, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Boater
Education
Float Plan Central has a
convenient help section for the float plan user.
About Float Plans provides
information on every facet of the float plan, from Anatomy of a Plan, to
a Glossary of float plan terms, to the Official Definition of what a
float plan is. But how
to use a float plan is simply not enough. Greater understanding and
appreciation is gained through example. Our
Tales of the Plan™
library provides a collection of true-life stories that reinforce the
value of float plan preparation.
We also feel it is important for the Float Planner to know what takes
place during a Search and Rescue (SAR) mission. Search and Rescue is a
complex process that has continuously been updated to reflect the latest
technology and techniques since the earliest days of the
U.S. Life-saving Service, the precursor to today's
U.S. Coast Guard, and America's Volunteer Lifesavers™ the
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
