  1. Call your local Law Enforcement agency.

If your computer uses the same line as your telephone, you can disconnect (hang-up) without having to close this browser window.  When you've finished your call, proceed the next item on this page. Your browser will automatically reconnect you with this web site at the appropriate time.

  2. Tell the dispatcher that you are responding to a late return or check-in by the "Persons On Board".  The dispatcher will instruct you from there.

The dispatcher will provide you with the necessary contact or agency connection to get a Search And Rescue (SAR) mission started.  This is usually handled this way because it puts you closest to the agency conducting the rescue mission, eliminating unnecessary middle-men.

The dispatcher will also let you know if they would like a follow-up call from you on the outcome.

  3. Hang-up the telephone when you have finished talking with the dispatcher.

  4. Continue with the next step.
